Isantbul.................. Here we COME!

We're packed up and ready to go! Back in the days when you could bring bottles of stuff and sharp objects on a plane we used to just travel with a backpack each. It was so nice for weekend trips because we never had to wait for luggage at the other end. But alas - you're well aware - that that is no longer allowed.

So we're packed up into one small suitcase for the two of us. Murray has his camera bag for carry on and I have a travel purse that is squeezed full of plane necessities!!!! (books, hair brush, sunglasses etc - ekkk it's not big enough!) The forecast is rainy tomorrow, then sunny and around 15c (60f) for the rest of the weekend. Not warm, but not freezing - I can handle that. And as we plan on doing a LOT of walking, probably better that it's not boiling.

This is our first 'long weekend' trip in a LONG time.... can't wait! I bought the Istanbul eyewitness travel book and have practically already read it cover to cover. LOTS of history in this city! We have a very very packed 3 days planned, can't wait!
