I HATE THE BUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well last night was a bit of a drama.

I had applied for and got 6 tickets to go to the taping of the pilot for Charlotte Church's new talk show. We got there plenty early and queued up to get our seats. After waiting for 20 minutes in line we were finally told (after a very lengthy explanation about seats, blocking fire exits & where the cameras are located) we were told they had 200 fewer seats then expected. Which meant a TON of us who were waiting outside would not get to go in :( We were promised priority seats for the next show taping (if they pick up the show based on this pilot), but I was upset I had left work and hour early for nothing.
SO, we were given the option to go next door and be members of the studio audience on another pilot taping - 'Christian O'Connell's Sunday Service'

That's him - second from the left

I guess he's a radio dj who now got his own comedy (i.e. boring rehash of the news and silly not so funny jokes) show. We were lured in by the production staff telling us there would be a 'celebrity guest.' It turned out to be some guy I've never heard of. So, after half heartedly clapping for half an hour (he kept messing up and had to tape a number of segments over & OVER) we snuck out. I guess they weren't so keen to let us out though, a security guard had to escort us out and unlock doors & gates so we could be released - thank goodness!!!!

So, we ended up instead chilling out with a pint of cider in a lovely pub along the Thames. Although it wasn't what we had planned on doing, it ended up being a really nice night:)

So, now - my gripe of the week - I HATE THE BUS!!!!! I was really thrilled this week when Murray figured out that there's actually a bus stop quite close to us that is much quicker than the route we have both been taking for the last few weeks. For the last few days we tried it out, and although it only comes once every half an hour, it was always on time, and it missed out on most of the bad traffic that makes the bus journey so slow in the morning. SO, this morning we got out there 6 minutes before it was due - and waited, and waited, and waited. After 40 minutes the NEXT scheduled bus came, when I got on I asked the driver what happened to the 7:30 bus? He said it came - I said no it didn't. Anyhow, when we got off the driver informed us that the bus comes at 7:25, not 7:30 as the sign on at the bus stop says, so we must have missed it by just a few minutes today. Well, from now on I'll make sure I'm there that few minutes earlier - how annoying though!

7:25? I'm not even out of bed that early! I would hate the bus too then!

I hear ya
I'm SO not a morning person
but I have to be at work at 8:30
and the 7:25 bus gets me here by 8:35 (IF it's on time)
I just hope I don't have to start catching the 7am bus instead - now THAT is early!

I hate public transportation in general - especially here in NYC. Nothing is ever on time, or it gets delayed and it's always too crowded. Ugh.

Ughh, what a terrible time to start! And if the bus comes at 7:25, why can't they just say that? Is is a special bus secret?!
